Sunday October 8th – 2023 BCMA Masjid ul Haq hosted an event for the volunteers that have played a significant role in establishing a branch of BCMA in the city of Vancouver.
Masjid-ul Haqq was purchased in 1998 and the funds to purchase the Masjid was raised in one month in the month of Ramadhan.
Local Ulema and Imams with BCMA officials also graced the occasion to witness the awards giving. Earlier during the day the Masjid also hosted an open house for the neighborhood.
Shaikh Shahdat Imam of Masjid Al Noor said, “the giving of awards does not take away from what Allah has decreed for this brothers.”
Imam of Masjid Haqq Mohammad Shujaat Ali said thanked the volunteers for their service. He said, “the way to gain honor and dignity is by being service to others.”
BC united Leader of Opposition Kevin Falcon was the guest of honor along with the Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim.
Kevin Falcon talked about his party's approach towards how he would handle issues related to SOGI and drugs in the society.
BC Muslim Association President Asad Gondal spoke about the significance of the volunteers. He Acknowledge that most of the work done in BCMA is done by volunteers. He thanked all the volunteers on behalf of his executive team.
The program was coordinated by the current of the board Abbas Ali. After the program a delicious dinner was served.
