10-14-2026
British Columbians head to the polls for local elections on Saturday, October 17, and the provincial election on Saturday, October 24.
Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both election days (Pacific time for the provincial election).
Local voters will elect mayors, councillors, school trustees and other officials where applicable; provincial voters will elect their MLA.
Provincial advance voting runs October 16–21, although locations and available dates vary. The deadline to request a provincial mail ballot online or by phone is October 18.
Voters must be Canadian citizens aged 18 or older and meet the applicable residency requirements.
Check your municipality's website for local voting information or visit elections.bc.ca (1-800-661-8683) for provincial voting locations, identification requirements and eligibility.
Vancouver voters will also decide three capital-borrowing questions and answer two non-binding public-safety plebiscite questions.
