“Gurdwara committee removed the flag themselves” - Taliban spokesperson

Last week various Indian News outlines ran a story about the removal of a Sikh flag from gurdwara in Afghanistan
If you were to google “gurdwara flag Afghanistan” all the news outlets in first 5 pages of google searches are Indian News Outlets.
Government sources had told India Today TV, “We condemn this act and reiterate India’s firm belief that Afghanistan’s future must be one where interest of all sections of Afghan society including minorities and women are protected.”
In a recent Interview with India Today on Aug 11, 2021, Indian journalist asked about the minorities situation and the removal of the flag from the gurdwara to the Taliban Spokesperson Suhail Shaheen.
Suhail Shaheen replied, “It was a baseless claim, the members of gurdwara committee removed the flag themselves.”
“When our people asked them why you have a takedown the flag, they said we were in fear.”
“So we assured them you have all the right and you had this right before as well under Taliban rule and have no worry about Security in the future.”
