Eid Message from BCMA President

7-19-2021

All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the universe. Peace and blessings be upon his final Messenger, his family, his noble Companions, and all those who follow them with righteousness until the Day of Judgment.

My dear brothers, sisters and children, Assalamwa’alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

Indeed, all praise belongs to Allah. By Allah, it is an amazing feeling to be present physically to pray our Eid-ul-Adha Salah in Congregation once again.

I am sure, every one of you are enjoying the peace and tranquility of congregating to our places of prayer and seeing familiar faces once again.

As we prepare to pray our Eid-ul Adha salah, it is imperative to reflect on the essence of this auspicious day which reminds us of Hajj, one of the five pillars of our faith.

This day is crucial in understanding the selfless sacrifices our prophet Ibraheem (AS) and the tests that him (AS) and his family was put through by Allah (swt).

Over the past year, we all may have gone through some tests, but it is still not comparable to the sacrifices of Ibraheem AS who fulfilled the orders of Allah swt with full conviction.

This occasion also reminds us of the rights of the underprivileged upon us. Our Prophet (sw) told us to take care of the needs of the underprivileged, the sick and the orphans.

This is a good opportunity to seek out the needy in our community and share our Qurbani/Udhiya meat.

I would like to take this opportunity and thank everyone who were recently involved in one way or another to help us organize and donate towards the Lytton Fire Relief Fund on behalf of the BC Muslims. The Lytton First Nations band chief acknowledged all Muslims for their kind generosity in the time of their need.

Today I must also congratulate the Richmond Expansion Committee Team for a wonderful job done in the completion of the beautiful space expansion. While we had stopped all the Capital projects for the BCMA in the pandemic period, the Richmond expansion project which was already underway, continued and finally got completed.

We will inshaAllah once again embark to grow our organization in the areas where places of prayer are needed greatly. Our focus will now move to Chilliwack where a growing community now needs a masjid facility. With the help of Allah swt, and the zeal of the local community, we will attain that goal soon as well, InshaAllah.

I would like to sincerely thank all our Imams, Masajid committee members and volunteers who work with sincerity to maintain our places of worship. We as a community should appreciate their efforts and make dua for all of them. May Allah swt accept your Eid-ul-Adha sacrifices.

Enjoy your Eid and stay safe.

On behalf of the BC Muslim Association, we wish you all a very happy and joyous Eid Mubarak!

ILTAF Sahib

President -The BC Muslim Association
