7-11-2017

The Egyptian Academy for Arabic and Islamic studies held its annual end of school year celebration at Coyote Creek Elementary School in Surrey. In May, students and staff celebrated the end of school year (2016-17) by launching three activities.

First, The “Girls in Action” team of female teenage students raised a total of $2000 cash for the purchase of non-perishable food that was distributed to over 27 needy families as “Ramadan Food Baskets”

In the Second program younger students collected lightly used and new toys and prepared Eid gifts distributed to orphans and our Muslim kids;

And Finally over 85 students age 4 – 17 participated in the ‘The Annual Quran Memorization Competition’.

The school administration and staff celebrated our parents and high school volunteers by offering them gifts and certificates.

The end of school year event started with a recitation of the Holy Quran by both Arabic and non-Arabic speaking students. School supervisors reported on the achievements for the academic year 2016- 17.

The school enrolled over 30 Syrian refugee kids providing financial aid to those who want to Join the school on case by case basis or with minimal monthly fees to teach them Quran and Islamic studies after spending several years in refugee camps without any formal education.

Our kindergarten students sang nasheed “Ahlan Ramadan”, while older students aged 8-14 years sang other Islamic nasheeds. Finally, winners of our annual Quran Memorization Competition were recognized and rewarded.

The Egyptian Academy congratulates all its students and staff on a very productive school year and appreciates all the hard work and dedication. The school will start its new academic school year (2017-2018) on September 10, 2017 at Coyote School Elementary School 8131 -156 Street, Surrey.
