Re: Sikandar Hayat is a confirmed candidate to seek the BC Liberal Party nomination in Surrey-Newton riding.

“Newton deserves a local, caring voice in Victoria.” – Sikandar Hayat.

Sikandar Hayat is a father of two beautiful daughters, a loving husband, a businessman, and a resident of Surrey-Newton area for over fifteen years. Sikandar has learned from his father to serve his fellow citizens. In 2015 and 2016 alone, Sikandar Hayat has volunteered over 400 hours of his time in creating and executing education and leadership programs for youth, food and clothing drives for the local homeless people, advocating for children’s rights, raising funds and awareness for cancer and heart attack, and in helping Syrian refugees settle down in Surrey.

This great city of Surrey has given him a lot of caring friends, a home to raise his family and tons of great memories. People of this amazing city have always supported him in dozens of his community initiatives. Sikandar Hayat feels that Newton is the heart of Surrey and deserves a caring voice in Victoria, someone who is local and knows the issues faced by local people. He would like to be that voice of Surrey-Newton in the government of British Columbia.   For this reason, he is seeking nomination to be the BC Liberals’ candidate from Surrey-Newton in the upcoming provincial election.

Top issues to work on:
•    Building more affordable housing units
•    Overhauling of Medical Services Plan (MSP)
•    Bringing drugs and crime under control
•    More funding to hire support staff for special need students
