Canada's Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan at The 2nd Surrey Board of Trade Mayor's Breakfast

On Wednesday, April 27th Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner Invited Canada’s Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan at her  2nd Surrey Board of Trade Mayor’s Breakfast.

This high-profile breakfast series highlight  issues vital to Surrey’s prosperity and quality of life. The purpose of the Mayor’s Breakfast Series is to continually engage businesses and provide ongoing updates from Surrey City Hall on issues and initiatives.

Harjit Singh Sajjan has served Canada and his community as both a soldier and a police officer. Harjit is a retired Lieutenant-Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces and a combat veteran. He is also a recipient of the Order of Military Merit, one of the military’s highest recognition. The Minister was a police officer with the Vancouver Police Department for 11 years.

Mayor Linda welcomed the Minister at the City of Surrey and introduced her goal to  establish a veterans center in the City of Surrey.

Harjit spoke about why Canadians need to be proud about their men and women in uniform. He briefed the audience about the new Liberal governments  goal to connect with Canadians.
Among the Guest were MP John Aldag, MP Sukh Dhaliwal, MP Ken Hardie and MP Randeep Sarai.
