ARSON ATTEMPT AT AL-JAMIA MASJID VANCOUVER

It is very disturbing to learn that an arson attempt was made on Al-Jamia Masjid in Vancouver on the evening of April 28th 2016 during Magrib Salah time. It’s unthinkable why anyone would take such cowardly steps against peaceful people who just practice their faith, contribute to society and get on with their lives.
This particular center is of special significant to the Muslims of British Columbia. It is the epicentre of the early Muslims presence in B.C. dating back to 1960’s and earlier and the brainchild that led to the birth of The B.C. Muslim Association. The first place used by Muslim immigrants to socialize, perform Friday obligatory prayers and to get to know and connect with Muslims from all over the world. Such an attack tantamount to aggression against entire Muslim community of British Columbia.
We stand united with Pakistan-Canada Association. We condemn this senseless act and appeal to authorities to apprehend the offender and bring this matter to closure.
