BR. INTAZ ALI PASSES AWAY December 27th 2015

INNA LILLAHE WA INNA ELAHI RAJEOON

Born on February 02 in the year 1939 at Natalecake, Ba Fiji was
Br. Intaz Ali and the loving parents were Chacha Manzoor Mohammed
and Chachi Fatima Mohammed.

He received his primary education in Varavu Muslim School and joined DAV High School in 1955. In the year 1958 he joined Lautoka Muslim High School and completed his Senior Cambridge Certificate in 1959. In the year 1960, Br. Intaz was among the first Fiji Indians to join the machinist course as an apprentice with the CSR Company (now FSC). Having completed his tenure as apprentice, he served the CSR in Lautoka and in 1967 joined the Derrick Technical Institute (now FIT) in Suva, as a Lecturer.
 
In the year 1968, he was married to Abida Latif, the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abdul Latif of Namosau, Ba Fiji.

In Lautoka, Br. Intaz did First Aid Course with St. John's Ambulance Society and did service in Rugby and Soccer fields and in Admitting and Emergency Room in Lautoka General Hospital. With his dedication and hard work, he was promoted as Sergeant of
St. Johns Ambulance of Lautoka Division.

In the year 1969, Br. Ali sketched the ‘H Shaped Building’ for Ba Muslim College (now KAMIL) and assisted Br. Wajid Ali draft the Plan.

He lived in Suva until 1974 and their three children, Shabina, Irshad and Imran were born. He built his dream home in Nadera and lived there until 1989 when he moved to Canada.


While in Suva, Br. Intaz saw the need of youths' involvement in Islamic activities and gathered his pupils in the Fiji Institute of Technology and founded FIT ISLAMIC SOCIETY. This Council served the Religion and Humanity needs for entire Fiji Islands, distributing Zakaah and educational needs. He also spearheaded Crime Prevention Society of Nadera with the Fiji Police Force.

Br. Intaz was one of the founding members of Nadera Marqaz and served it as its secretary. It later was converted to Nadera Masjid and is still serving the area community.

In Canada, Br. Intaz helped raise fund for Surrey Masjid and Masjid ar Rahmah. He actively cooked and sold Pulau during Juma’a salaat. He was very active in the initiation of Surrey Muslim School at Masjid ar Rahmah both in paper work and scouting for pupils.

Br. Intaz was pre-deceased by his parents and elder Br. Azmat Ali. Surviving are his eldest sister Sakunat Dean, Br. Shamsher Ali and the youngest sister Makiman Bibi

Janazah Salaah was led by Imran Ali [son] at Surrey Jamia Masjid and was buried at Victory Memorial Cemetery. South Surrey on Tuesday 29th of December 2015.
