Muslim Restauranteurs

Once again, Muslim restaurant owners / operators have displayed their lack of business acumen.
During the long holidays, my wife decided she needs a rest and does not want to cook, so we went looking for some halal take-out. Three of the five places we visited, were closed, one was closed for 3 weeks due to Haj.
Would this happen in any of the non-halal fast food chains (e.g. McDonalds)? No, of course not. These non-halal restaurants are also run by humans, who need time off during Christmas, annual vacations, etc., but you never see such a sign on ANY of their stores. Indeed, they are even open during extensive renovations! Can any Muslim do the same?
They have enough people trained, so that when one is away (on leave, sick, etc.), another can open the store. Most of these restaurants work THREE shifts, so there is always one person leaving, another one running the place.
With very few Halal restaurants available in the area, when the Muslim brothers decide to close, they are forcing us to visit non-halal establishments. Even their serving size is tiny compared to those from the giant chains (compare the size of the beef patty on the burgers from Muslim restaurants and those from Burger King, McDonalds or even Wendy's) and compare the prices too. It is blatantly obvious we are being ripped off, and yet they decide in all their arrogance to remain closed during long weekends!
