Woodworkers Story

5-05-2015

I just read your story of the wood carver on the front page of your latest issue.

It reminded me of the time when one of my friend's father's company was awarded the contract to make the throne for the Queen during Kenya's Independence day ceremonies in 1963, also out of wood.

They too were busy making the furniture for at least 6 months (in those days, technology was not so advanced).

My father's company was also given the contract to make the national flags for Brazil in the early 1070's, as the local flag makers (in Brazil) were on strike.  We delivered millions of flags, buntings, pennants well ahead of deadline.

Al Hamdolillah
