HONORING A MUSLIM WOMEN FOR OUTSTANDING MERIT OF MAPLES BY A CHINESE ORGANIZATION CALLED: UNITED ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF CANADA

On March.29, 2015 the United Association of Women and Children of Canada (Chinese Organization) hosted a Gala Event at Westin Bayshore Inn, Vancouver to acknowledge Women from different ethnic groups for their achievements.  Last year the first Muslim sister Zainab Dhanani (Past Principal of Az-Zahra School) was recognized for her outstanding work. This year, Farida Bano Ali was the recipient of this award for her outstanding work for the merits of the Maple Leaf.

 

This organization has over 1500 members across Canada and they work for mainly Women and Children on social status, equal treatment, working and living situations as well as their children's healthy growth. The organization promotes empowerment to Women and building confidence in them for their careers and for a healthy life.

In the future this Organization hopes to connect with other Ethnic community to work on Women's and Children's issues on Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Mental Health issues.
