WHAT YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE YOUR BRAIN HEALTH:

~Challenge your brain- keep your brain active, socialize, interact, listen to the radio

~Be socially active- staying connected socially helps to stay connected mentally. Social interaction with friends and family helps. Spend time with people who have a positive outlook. Join an exercise program, walking groups or drop in at the Masjid. Practice deep breathing. Take up a Tai-Chi class.

~Choose a healthy lifestyle-  A healthy lifestyle is as important to brain health as it is to the rest of the body. Diabetes, hypertension (BP), High Cholesterol and Obesity are all risk factors for Dementia. Make healthy food choices.

~Be active- regular, moderate activities. Spend time and be active with grandchildren.

~Reduce stress- practise stress relaxation and other stress reduction techniques, read Qur'an and listen to it, doing Dhikr (recite SubhanAllah, Alhamdulilah, Allahu Akbar numerous times)

Our aim is to have these workshop regularly to educate and promote awareness to the aging community. Special thanks to Surrey/ Delta Branch and brothers for their participation.
