Darul Qur'an Institute of Islamic Studies held its 3rd annual Jalsah

On Sunday November, 9 Darul Qur’an Institute of Islamic Studies held its 3rd annual Jalsah and graduation ceremony for their student Hafidh Muhammad Huzaifa Wahla son of Mr. & Mrs. Ikram Wahla. It was an evening full of beautiful and inspiring recitations of the Qur’an, Nasheeds, Salat-alan-Nabi, and speeches all performed by the students of the Madrasah. Shaykh Oves acknowledged the sacrifices made by students and their parents in the pursuit of Islamic education.
He then explained that not only are the students of the Madrasah taught Islamic studies such as learning to read the Qur’an correctly with Tajweed, memorizing verses of the Qur’an, praying and living our lives according to the practices of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, but they are also taught to be law abiding, peaceful, productive and contributing members of Canadian society.
The main event of the night was the graduation ceremony of Hafidh Muhammad Huzaifa Wahla son of Mr. and Mrs. Ikram Wahla.
He began and continued his Islamic studies with Shaykh Oves and Shaykh Anees and after years of sacrifices and hard work Hafidh Huzaifa completed his Tahfeedh-ul-Qur’an.
The amazing and remarkable aspect is that he completed his Tahfeedh-ul-Qur’an while going to high school just like any other boy of his age.
Many scholars of Islam attended and graced the event with their presence. Shaykh Imam Dr. Ziyad was invited to the event and spoke about the importance of educating our Muslim youth and investing in their future. Shaykh Molana Yousuf also was in attendance and the audience thoroughly enjoyed his Nasheeds.
Local dignitaries that attended the event included Sikander Hayat who ran for school trustee, Justin Thind who ran for councillor and former Mayor of Surrey Doug MacCallum.
