CPD Seminar: Temporary Foreign Workers

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Ashton College is proud to announce that we will be hosting a CPD on the topic of Temporary Foreign Workers. The Continuing Professional Development seminar will be hosted by Alex Stojicevic.

As a former Chair of the National Immigration and Citizenship Section of the Canadian Bar Association and one of the founders of Maynard Kischer Stojicevic law firm, Alex Stojicevic is recognized as one of the leading immigration lawyers in Canada.Alex holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with honours in Political Science from the University of Calgary and a Law Degree from the University of British Columbia. Alex is involved extensively with the CBA Immigration Section and successfully manages clients with upwards of 130 foreign workers. He has also taught Immigration Law at the University of British Columbia Law School.

Mr. Stojicevic advises the human resources department of a number of companies, non-profit organizations and several large education institutions in British Columbia on foreign worker related matters. His practice also involves filing a broad range of business and economic class applications, humanitarian and compassionate applications, pre-removal risk assessment applications, temporary resident permit applications. Most recently, he has had a concentration on Provincial Nominee Program applications.

The seminar will take place at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Chateau Granville on Friday, December 5, 2014, form 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Stojicevic will cover topics including: history and evolution of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, application for LMIAs, and LMIA exempt categories.

This CPD seminar has been approved for 3.5 hours by ICCRC and The Law Society of British Columbia. The seminar costs $160.00 and will be available in-class as well as through live-stream.
