Eid Greetings from the BCMA President

10-14-2014

EID Mubarak to you and your family

In the name of Allah, the most beneficent and the most merciful!

All praises belong to Allah, the Lord of the Universe.

My respected Brothers and Sisters:  Assalam-u-Alaykum – wa Rahamatullahi – wa Barakatahu.

The BC Muslim Association wishes you and your loved ones a very happy and blessed Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha is one of the greatest festivals of Islam, the festival of sacrifice, which comes after the day of Arafat.  The day of Arafat is the day when Allah forgives many sins for his servants.

This Eid commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah.  This is one of the greatest stories in human history, the story of a father who lovingly and willingly sacrifices the most precious thing he had, his son, for the sake of Allah Subhan wa Taala.  His resolve was unmatched and his determination to please Allah Subhan wa Taala unswerving.
We learn from the story that it is only through unconditional sacrifice that a human can achieve Allah’s pleasure and mercy.  This is truly an example that our young brothers and sisters should aspire to.

Eid ul Adha is also the time to perform the actual Qurbani for the pleasure of Allah and to share the meat with the family, relatives and the poor.  Please remember the needy in our own community during this festival of sacrifice.  All Qurbani/Udhiya donations can be made to the Burnaby Masjid or the Muslim Food Bank.

On this special occasion, I would like to recognize all the officials, both brothers and sisters, who continue to volunteer and sacrifice their precious time and energy in serving our Association for the sake of Allah (swt). Through these efforts we have acquired our newest school facilities in Surrey and through all our collective financial sacrifice we shall pay off the loan, Inshah Allah.

Please visit our Website to learn about our new initiatives.  Your feedback is very important to us.

May Allah answer all our prayers, forgive us our shortcomings, accept our good actions, keep us on the straight path, and make better our condition.

Your dua and support is very much appreciated.
Once again, EID MUBARAK to you all.
