On call of The Committee of Progressive Pakistani Canadians (CPPC), around 400 men, women and children from all walks of life, from all religions, castes and creeds gathered in Surrey's Holland Park for a public rally and vigil organized for their Palestinian brother/sisterhood. At the time when the land of Palestine is witnessing yet another brutal episode of a collective human tragedy, the 'Stand Up for Gaza' Rally was need of time and hundreds of people felt their humantarian obligation and participated in the rally.

While reporting, Shahzad Nazir Khan, the Executive Member of Committee of Progressive Pakistani Canadians has said that the rally was made possible because of the tremendous support by Canada Palestine Association, Fraser Valley Peace Council, Independent Jewish Voices and SANSAD. He further added that this very well attended rally attracted media and much public attention and it also helped to renewed our commitments, our stand and our practical stance towards human rights, justice and peace in the world and especially for our grieved Brothers and Sisters of Palestine. Rally participants were waving Palestinian flags and placards denouncing the barbarism and genocide committed by Zionist group and Israeli occupied forces. Candles were lit and at the end a minute of silence and prayers were observed by the demonstrators when they gathered at the corner of 100 avenue and King George Blvd
