A MESSAGE FROM PREMIER CHRISTY CLARK

As Premier of the Province of British Columbia, I am pleased to extend greetings to everyone gathered here today to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan– the month long spiritual journey of Muslimsaround the world.
One of the great things about our province is its multicultural diversity, giving everyone an opportunity to experience and practice cultural and religious traditions and observances in peace.
This is a very special and sacred time for Muslims – it is a time to participate in communal prayers, remember the hardships of others, listen to a khutba and give zakat al-fi tr. Thank you to the Muslim community of British Columbia, including the Canadian Forum of BC and Muslim Association Canada, for honouring your spiritual values, respecting the teachings of Islam, and for sharing your devotion to your faith with each other, and with others.
