Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm - a new culturally inclusive animated series

5-01-2020

Reflecting the national mood, sustainability and mindfulness is the order of the day for pre-school families, while building creativity, confidence and communication skills.

London, 23 April, 2020. Zayna and Zayna’s Little Farm is a stunningly produced animated series following the colourful and fun adventures of brother and sister, Zayn & Zayna, an Arabic family on their British family farm, with a multitude of pets, farm animals and friends. It is thoughtfully created to deliver teachable moments in kindness, mindfulness, family, and community and is already proving a hit in homes all over the world, through its initial YouTube pre-release.

“Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm celebrates inclusive behaviour and collaboration - our philosophy is that we find strength, joy and vitality in diverse communities coming together.”  says Wa'qaar A Mirza, writer and global CEO, Safi Productions, developer of Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm.

As the nation comes to term with three more weeks in Lockdown, parents of pre-schoolers, starved of anything new to entertain this very impressionable age group, are increasingly turning to Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm on YouTube for safe and educational new entertainment.

The UK’s demographic is increasingly diverse. Many children are growing up in mixed culture families and socialising with multiple ethnicities and religious groups, yet there is a clear gap in the market for diverse, inclusive content for 2-4 year old children. Last year alone only 12% of childrens’ shows had a black, Asian or ethnic minority lead.* This reveals the huge opportunity for broadcasters to showcase content that reflects increased diversity including race, gender and other marginalized groups.

Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm offers just that and more. Set in a small multicultural town, it  introduces preschool children to the wholesome values of family, community and cultural diversity in a fun, creativity and meaningful way. Playing games, learning, exploring nature and helping their family and community, are Zayn & Zayna's favourite pastimes - showcasing the importance of kindness, empathy and respect and how communities can respectfully live together in harmony.

Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm is full of forward thinking, real-world learnings. Created by educational experts, each episode brings an exciting new adventure and wholesome message for the young viewers; the importance of washing hands, respecting animals and helping in the home for example. Through watching the characters navigate everyday challenges and exploring the world, they are actively learning how they too can make a difference. There are also supportive worksheets for each episode, to help guide parents on key conversational points that might arise from those inquisitive minds.

“We want to illustrate to all British children how to be more respectful of the environment, how to support their communities, the importance of family, and how we can all participate in nature.” said CEO, Wa'qaar A Mirza. “Mindfulness is at the heart of what we do, influencing a generation of caring and compassionate children.”

Based on the Zayn & Zayna’s Little Farm series of books by British author Wa'qaar A Mirza  and illustrated by Pablo Breh; Zayn & Zayna is produced by Safi Productions, an ethical and disruptive innovation incubation company based in London. Legendary producer, Henry Becket, best-known for ‘Olly the Little White Van’ and a larger team of 34 culturally diverse creatives come together to create this warm and charming animated adaptation.

As well as the Zayn and Zayna’s Little Farm TV series, there is a plethora of bespoke content available on their website zaynandzaynas.com, designed to encourage interactive learning through active play. Fun, engaging, singalong songs written specifically with mood enhancing rhythms that help with sensory development as well as boost confidence.
